TECH and DESIGNERS
MILLBROOK
PLAYHOUSE, a professional summer stock theatre located in central
PA, is seeking a company manager, box office manager, box office
staff, technical director, carpenters, ME, set, lighting, costume,
sound and props designers, two stage managers, assistant director
and costume shop staff for its 2010 season June 6th through August
15th. Musicals Include: Hairspray, Lewis Carroll’s
Alice, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Cole Porter’s
You Never Know. Plays include: What the Bellhop Saw,
Fully Committed, Eleemosynary, Rumors. Shows for children include:
The Wind in the Willows, Help Wanted: Pirates!

The salary
for these positions ranges from $100 – 300 per week depending
on the position and experience level. Millbrook provides shared
housing, gym access, and 6 dinners/week to its staff.

DESIGN OPPORTUNITIES
Properties Designer/Scenic
Painter: This position is responsible for designing
and executing the props for 8 shows throughout the summer.
The right candidate will have excellent time management skills,
the ability to work well with a range of directors as well as designers,
and be a team player. Duties include, but are not limited
to: Designing the shows, working with-in budget, properties
construction. This is a great opportunity for a designer looking
to expand their portfolio, meet a wide range of directors and be
creative. Will also work with Scenic designer to paint all
the shows. Reports to the Director of the show, General Manager
and Artistic Director.
TECHNICAL OPPORTUNITIES
Assistant Costume Designer/Costume
Shop Manager: This position is responsible for supporting
the costume designer. The right candidate will be organized,
supportive, hard working, have some sewing experience and the desire
to learn and hone your skills, work well with a range of
tech staff, and be a team player. Duties include, but are
not limited to: Sewing, maintenance, running shows and laundry.
A candidate with an interest in costume design may be eligible to
design the shows for the children’s series and camp.
Reports to: Costume Designer.
